Vijay’s Leo was released yesterday and received mostly mixed reviews and not-so-positive word of mouth. The majority of the audience felt that this film was not on par with the other LCU films and even the connection that was established with LCU was quite underwhelming.
Despite these drawbacks, the film created massive records on its Day 1. With close to Rs 150Cr gross on opening day, the film created new benchmarks for Kollywood. Usually with such talk, the films will crash on Day 2 and 3 but Leo is maintaining a super strong hold in all territories.
Today, just in Tamil Nadu, the movie is expected to collect more than 20Cr. The same is the case in Kerala where normally mixed review films don’t sustain on days next to release. But there also the film is holding really well.
In Karnataka, Leo put up amazing Day 1 numbers and the advance bookings for evening and night shows are good for today. Coming to Telugu states, Leo is going super strong from noon shows only it is maintaining a super strong hold. Overseas also expected to be good considering the current booking trends.
This Lokesh Kanagaraj broke all records for Kollywood and it was 4th biggest opening for Indian cinema, Despite mixed WOM and reviews the film maintained a solid trend on opening day. The advance booking for today and the weekend is excellent.
