The National Cinema Day makes a huge impact and draws 6 million people to theaters as it made the movie lovers run into the theaters on October 13th. Films like Jawan, Mission Raniganj, Thank You For Coming, and MAD got heavily benefited from the National Cinema Day.

According to the Multiplex Association of India (MAI), on Friday, October 13, 2023, there was a record number of cinema goers who went to the movies to celebrate National Cinema Day. The initiative saw the participation of over 4,300 screens, which included cinema chains like PVR NOX, Cinepolis, Miraj, City Pride, Mukta A2, Movie Time, Wave, M2K, Movie Max, Rajhans, NY Cinemas, Delite, and others.

6 million people came to the theaters:

The moviegoers across the country gave the second National Cinema Day a big thumbs up, with shows starting at 6.00 am. MAI stated in a statement that they had achieved great success in bringing together millions of movie fans of all ages to enjoy movies on the big screen. National Cinema Day was celebrated by a record-breaking 6+ million moviegoers at their local theaters. Audiences of all ages gathered in every corner to experience an unprecedented demand for movie tickets, and cinema operators across the country reported house-full shows throughout the day, making October 13 the second most-attended day of 2023.

With tickets priced at just 99 Rs for National Cinema Day, the small film MAD saw a surge in bookings in Bangalore on. Friday, this shows high ticket prices having a huge effect on the audiences. Small and medium-budget filmmakers should consider lower ticket prices to attract a wider audience.
