Natural Star Nani is known for promoting his films before the release very well and even after the film’s result disappoints him, he never fails to back those projects which he loved the most. We can say it will be a very rare instance where Nani does not acknowledge his films irrespective of their box office results. Today, Nani’s Ante Sundaraniki completes one year and though the film failed to live up to the expectations at the box office. Nani recalled the film and called it as a gem on the occasion of its first anniversary.
Nani and Nazriya’s romantic comedy Ante Sundaraniki was released in theaters on 10th June last year and opened to mostly positive talk from audiences. The film was fun, breezy, and wholesome in most parts, yet, it failed to establish a connection with the larger Telugu audiences due to its unique narrative style which unfortunately did not go well with the taste of them.
Owing to this, the film failed to obtain passing marks at the theatrical level and ended up as an average venture. There were numerous reasons for the movie underperforming in theaters. Firstly, the saturation of releases in the summer of 2022 and even in June’s first week resulted in the audience feeling exhausted to watching another film.
However, all was not sad, as Ante Sundaraniki had passed with flying colors at the OTT platform. Ante Sundaraniki was released on Netflix after 4 weeks of the theatrical release and had received a tremendous response from netizens. The movie also trended at no 1 for the Telugu version and no 6 for the Tamil version.
