Nag Ashwin Reddy, credited as Nag Ashwin is just two films old. After making a promising debut with the coming-of-age drama Yevade Subrmanyam (2015), he went on to write and direct the internationally acclaimed biographical film Mahanati (2018). It was also a massive commercial success making him one of the most sought-after directors in Telugu.
This gave him a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make a mega-budgeted sci-fi film starring Prabhas in the lead role. Bankrolled by Vyjayanthi films on an earth-shattering budget, it also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Hassan and Deepika Padukone in supporting roles. As officially announced, the film is slated for a worldwide release on 9th May 2024.
However, owing to the project’s extensive post-production which includes a tonne of VFX, the release date is very likely to get postponed to next year. But the captain of the ship, Nag Ashwin is in no mood for compromises; the makers who’re wrapping up the project’s final shooting schedule have also kickstarted the dubbed works in parallel. Additionally, the promotional content such as the songs and theatrical trailer are also in making.
