‘Super Star’ Mahesh Babu turned a year old yesterday. Celebrating this eve, fans have come together to pull off a grand re-release of Krishna Vamshi’s classic Murari (2001). This decision received a mixed response from the trade since it is not a mass commercial film like his previous re-releases, Pokiri and Businessman.
However, the advance bookings narrated a different story; following an excellent trend in bookings, a big number of shows have been planned across Telugu states and overseas. Expectedly, Murari 4K took a thunderous start at the box office, collecting a massive INR 5.3 crore on its opening day.
In Nizam alone, it minted INR 2.9 crore; the film’s Telugu state gross stands at INR 4.4 crore, while the overseas figures are estimated to be around INR 55 lakhs. Overall, Murari 4K is a massive success, with a cumulative gross of INR 5.3 crore worldwide. With this, Mahesh broke his own record of businessman, which collected INR 5.2 crore on its opening day. According to experts, the footfalls on the second day are also impressive.
Telgu Top 5 Opening day in rereleases are Murari[5.3 Cr], Businessman [5.2 Cr] , Kushi [4 Cr], Simhadri [3.5 Cr] and Jalsa[3 Cr]. The next big rereleases are Indra and Gabbar Singh.
