Amidst Sita Ramam’s massive success, producer Aswini Dutt made an interesting revelation. During a show, he revealed that Mrunal Thakur was the initial choice for Project K with Prabhas. The role has now been offered by Nag Ashwin to Deepika Padukone. Both Project K and Sita Ramam are bankrolled by Aswini Dutt’s Vyjayanthi movies.
“Due to this change, she didn’t get the part in Project K. She knew it was a big project with a superstar, but she loved Sita Ramam script and wanted to be a part of it,” revealed Aswini Dutt.
Mrunal Thakur was also seen in the Bollywood remake of Jersey with Shahid Kapur. The film failed at the box office. In addition to this, she was also seen in unsuccessful Bollywood films like Toofaan, Dhamaka etc. Her Tollywood debut with Sita Ramam has indeed changed her career trajectory and now she is one of the most in-demand newcomers.
