In the past, we have seen how movies get totally sidetracked just because of the involvement of a star actor. Once the actor demands for changes in the script, the director has no option but to agree. But nowadays, this trend has changed and actors usually don’t make changes.
Before the commencement of Acharya’s shooting, Koratala had made it very clear. He told Chiranjeevi about the script of Acharya very clearly. He said that there will be no heroine for Chiru as well. But, Chiranjeevi was adamant on having a heroine and brought in Kajal. He even wrote a few scenes for Kajal and him.
Owing to the changes made by Chiranjeevi, the team agreed to the non-theatrical rights keeping Kajal in mind as the main lead actress. But after watching the rushes of the scenes with Kajal and Chiranjeevi, Koratala was extremely unhappy with the output and decided to remove her character completely.
Perhaps that was the best decision but due to the theatrical failure of Acharya, the non-theatrical rights have now been affected. The buyers started reducing the amount stating that the rights were bought keeping Kajal in mind. Due to Chiranjeevi’s decision, more than 10 crores have been lost.
