Kriti Sanon was reported to be playing the role of Meena Kumari, the legendary actress, in her biopic. Manish Malhotra, the popular designer in Bollywood, is said to be making the debut as a director with this project. However, it appears that the project may run into legal issues because Meena Kumari’s family is not happy with the film with her biopic.
Tajdar Amrohi, the son of Meena Kumari and her husband Kamal Amrohi, told a website that he would take the makers to the court if the project got off the ground. Reportedly, Tajdar stated that industry people have become completely bankrupt and thieves. He added that they have no right to barge in and step into his territory. He added, “They are not just thieves, but also dacoits.”
Making biopics on famous personalities is not an easy task for the makers because they have to get the approval of the family members, and they should also make sure that the image of the actor/actress not get spoiled.
Meen Kumari was one of the most iconic figures in the Hindi film industry of the 1990s. She was known as the tragic queen of the film industry. She passed away at the age of 38 due to liver complications. Not only that, but she acted in around 150 films during her career.
