The distributors and exhibitors put a lot of hope on this weekend as three notable films Skanda, Peddha Kapu 1, and Chandramukhi 2 were released. The long weekend was a much anticipated one as the buyers bought the movies for very huge prices but eventually, they were left with disappointment.
Skanda was the biggest pre-release business for Ram valued around 50Cr. The action entertainer directed by Boyapati Srinu opened with mixed talk and reviews resulting in a below-par weekend. With just 50% recovery done so far, getting breakeven itself is highly impossible.
Similarly, Chandramukhi 2 also did not work well for the Telugu audience. After a decent opening day, the film dropped significantly and the movie has made just around 40% recovery on the weekend and will end up as a failure as well. Coming to Peddha Kapu 1, it has emerged as the biggest failure of all. Even before the long weekend started, the film started seeing negligible occupancies and minimal audience interest. The distributors and exhibitors’ loses will be 100% as there is no recovery.
