Vijay’s Leo had terrific advance bookings in all the territories. It became the 1st 100Cr+ opener for Kollywood Cinema, broke Kollywood’s previous opening day record with a 50Cr margin, and collected 145Cr+ Gross on the opening day.
The movie has crossed 100Cr in advance bookings before the shows started for opening day. Prabhas’s Salaar was also expected to do the same but failed due to weak bookings from other languages. Only in Telugu states are the bookings strong for Salaar, while all the others are just decent.
The Hindi version’s bookings are below par for Salaar, but Leo had solid advances in all southern states and overseas. Leo also had a good margin with Salaar, which resulted in Salaar settling around 85Cr+ in advance bookings before the shows started.
So, Leo holds the record for 100Cr advance bookings for opening day in 2023, and only this film has achieved this record in Indian Cinema this year.
