After 4 years of gap, actor Raghava Lawrence came before the with a mass action drama, Rudhran, which was dubbed in Telugu as Rudrudu. The film became a massive failure at the box office. It will be available in both Tamil and Telugu languages on OTT from 14th May through the Sun NXT App.
Lawrence earlier impressed the Telugu audience with his Muni and Kanchana film series. With Rudrudu he tried to bring an out-and-out mass action drama and in this film Lawrence has just acted as the lead and not handled the direction. Kathiresan is the director and producer of the film. Priya Bhavani Shankar is the female lead.
Because the promos and posters hinted that the movie is full of action sequences and Lawrence’s image, Rudrudu had received decent openings on the first day. However, the movie did not receive positive talk, so it declined at the box office from second day. Now we have to wait and see how the movie will be received by viewers on OTT.
The movie tells us the story of Rudra (Raghava Lawrence) who leads a happy life with his parents, Devaraju (Nassar) and Indrani (Poornima Bhagyaraj). He falls in love with Ananya (Priya Bhavani Shankar), and they get married. However, Rudra’s family faces financial problems, his father dies, and he leaves for London to sort out the issues. During his absence, his mother passes away, and Ananya goes missing. Devastated, Rudra returns home to find out what happened to them. How is Bhoomi (Sarathkumar) related to the story? What does Rudra do to find the truth? Answers to these questions form the rest of the story.
