The pre-release event of ‘Laila’ has unexpectedly sparked controversy, with social media witnessing the trending hashtag “#BoycottLaila.” Responding to the backlash, the film’s producer, Sahu Garapati, expressed shock at the situation.
“We were completely unaware that such comments would be made at our event. The film should be viewed as a film and nothing else. We have no control over what guests say on stage,” he clarified.
Actor Vishwak Sen, who was also present at the event, apologized for the controversy. “I sincerely apologize for what happened during our event. Just because one person makes a mistake, does it mean the entire team is at fault?” he questioned.
Regarding Prudhvi’s remarks, Vishwak Sen stated, “We had no idea what he spoke about. His comments have no connection to the movie. When thousands of tweets emerge on social media over one comment, how is the film supposed to survive?”
Sahu Garapati further explained that the ‘Laila’ team was outside welcoming Chiranjeevi Garu when Prudhvi spoke on stage. “We had no control over what happened at that moment. This film was made with immense hard work. We request everyone not to drag us into a controversy that we have no involvement in.” Concluding the issue, he added, “I am ending this discussion here. Please do not make us scapegoats for something beyond our control.”
