Kushi starring Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha released last week amidst great positivity and heavy anticipation. Fans were eager to catch Vijay in a romantic role after a long time and with Samantha’s presence, there was greater curiosity as to how this pair will look on screen.
Directed by Shiva Nirvana, the film had a rather mixed performance in the Telugu states. In AP, the film had a decent first three days and Rs 9.5 crores as against a pre-release trade of Rs 25 crores. The Nizam region on the other hand showcased terrific performance and Kushi managed to collect a solid Rs 11 crores with the theatricals valued at Rs 15 crore.
The overseas collection stands at Rs 7 crores while the Rest of India contributed Rs 4.5 crores to the film. While the collections are positive overall, the striking contrast between the Nizam collections and AP collections has surprised many.
Kushi also has Murali Sharma, Jayaram, Sachin Khedekar, Saranya Pradeep, and Vennela Kishore in crucial roles. It is a pan-India release with it hitting the screens in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.
