Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha’s romantic family entertainer Kushi was released on September 1St and the film started well on its first day, Friday, but suffered a slight decline in its numbers due to the India-Pakistan cricket match. Thereafter, on Sunday, it showed some promise, but then the movie completely crashed on the weekdays.
Even though the numbers are low from Andhra Pradesh for the film, with the support of decent numbers in Nizam and extraordinary collections at overseas, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka the movie posted good numbers overall. The film has collected around 36.5Cr share worldwide including all version for 5 days. The pre business is at 53Cr and as of now the recovery stands at approx 70%. The film needs a big 2nd weekend to settle as average – Above average at the box office.
Sushi also stars Murali Sharma, Jayaram, Sachin Khedekar, Saranya Pradeep, and Vennela Kishore in crucial roles. It is a pan-India release with it hitting the screens in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages. Fans were eager to catch Vijay in a romantic role after a long time and with Samantha’s presence, there was greater curiosity as to how this pair will look on screen but Shiva Nirvana’s narration and film’s dip in tempo in the second half made the audience feel detached.
