Bedurulanka 2012 starring Karthikeya and Neha Shetty has emerged as a surprise hit of last week’s releases. The movie opened to decent reviews and word of mouth. This hit has come as a much-needed gift for Karthikeya who after a string of flops was really banking on this movie’s success. Even before the movie’s release, the young actor seemed quite confident.
The theatricals were sold at Rs 4Cr and the film collected around Rs 8Cr gross in 4 days. Karthikeya had expressed great confidence in this film at the pre-release event and it has paid off.
The actor back at the event said that the characters and the films he has done so far are different in their own ways. And ‘Bedurulanka 2012’ is in a completely different league, he suggested. “If ‘RX 100’ was his breakout movie, ‘Bedurulanka 2012’ is going to be like a new introduction,” he had declared.
Ravindra Benerjee Muppaneni, who has previously made the National Award-winning ‘Color Photo’, produced this film directed by Clax. Bedurulanka also features Ajay Ghosh, Ram Prasad, Vennela Kishore, Srikanth Iyengar, and others.
