Karthikeya 2 was released in theatres on 13th August and opened to good first-day collections at the box office. The positive word of mouth further helped the film to post extraordinary collections on Day 2 and Day 2 subsequently.
The prequel to Karthikeya 2 was also a massive success and is partly responsible for the hype for Karthikeya 2 today. This is not a very uncommon trend for sequels to generate a lot of buzz among the audiences.
