According to Karthi’s recent interview with Variety magazine, he is now ready to work with his brother Suriya and both are just waiting for a compelling plot. The Ponniyin Selvan actor added that although he was first reluctant to collaborate with his brother, they are now ready.
People are excited to bring us all together. Dad now is very clear – he’s not very keen to come in front of the camera. But my brother and myself, we are very keen that we should find a good story and do it,” Karthi said. “Very rarely are brothers in the same industry. And we really want to do one good film together for sure. Earlier, I was scared. Now we are both certain, we have to do one.”
Both Karthi and Suriya command great fan following in Telugu states as well so a collaboration between the two will have great bilingual potential as well. Individually, Karthi and Suriya are on a roll! Their last films Ponniyin Selvan 2, Jai Bhim, Etharkkum Thunindhavan, Sardar all became major hits.
At the moment, Karthi is awaiting the release of his upcoming movie Japan, directed by Raju Murugan and starring Anu Emmanuel as the female lead. The movie is scheduled to hit the theatres for Diwali in November 2023.
Suriya on the other hand will be seen in pan- India period action film Kanguva. Directed by Siva, the film has created massive buzz in the trade circles and the audience are eagerly awaiting to see Suriya as a warrior.
