Kantara Star Rishab Shetty’s Next Movie to be made on Big Budget

Kantara, directed by and starring Rishab Shetty, is the second-highest-grossing Kannada film of all time, with a worldwide gross of over ₹400 crore at the box office.

The audience has been insisting on a sequel ever since the film’s release. But the actor and director Rishab has not confirmed whether he is indeed making it or not. Kantara in OTT too has received good response.

There were also many rumors occurred that Rishab will enter the Telugu Film Industry, as ace producer Allu Aravind who happens to be the distributor of Kantara’s Telugu version has asked him to do a film in Geetha Arts banner.

However, as per Kannada media, Rishab Shetty’s next film would be made on Big Budget, and he has already locked in on its basic idea and is working on the full-fledged script. The film will certainly have a Pan India release.

Rishab was further supposed to shoot Rakshit’s Bachelor Party, directed by his friend and colleague Rakshit Shetty. The film was about to go into the shoot afterward this year. The film further stars Diganth and Achyuth Kumar. But the latest rumors have at it that Rishab has been replaced in the film.

Kantara, which translates to a mystical forest, tells the story of a local demigod, who trades forest land with a king in 1870, in exchange for happiness. Many years thereafter, when the king’s son grows greedy and wants the soil back, he dies because of the wrath of God.
