Music maestro Ilaiyaraaja’s biopic was recently announced with Dhanush in the lead. Dhanush will be playing the role of the musical legend in this film that will chronicle the life journey of the composer and his rise. Interestingly, Kamal Haasan will also play a vital role in this project.
During the recent felicitation ceremony of legendary director Singeetham Sreenivas Rao, Kamal Haasan declared that he would be handling the screenplay of this project. This news has filled Kamal fans with great joy as he will be marking his return to writing after Vishwaroopam 2 which was released in 2018.
Kamal Haasan has worked as a writer for most of his films, and he is also involved in
the scripting part for his upcoming film ‘Thug Life’, which is directed by Mani Ratnam. Ilaiyaraaja biopic will be directed by Arun Matheshwaran who recently made Dhanush’s Captain Miller. Nirav Shah is handling this film and interestingly, the tune will be composed by the maestro himself.
Ilaiyaraaja’s biopic will be a pan-India release and it will feature cameo appearances from several big Tamil stars. Titled Ilaiyaraja, the makers of the film recently announced the biopic with a poster, showing Dhanush in character entering an old Madras with his bags in hand. The tagline of the film says, ‘The King of Musicʼ.
