After the massive success of Bimbisara last year, the expectations from Kalyan Ram’s Amigos rose substantially. The film had a unique concept, with trailers and promotional content looking quite unique. While the film couldn’t create a good pre-release buzz, many hoped that the unique content could manage good word of mouth.
However, all these expectations of a consecutive hit to Kalyan Ram have come to an abrupt end as the film has not managed to impress the audience. The pre-release business of the film is valued at 15Cr worldwide and the movie has just collected around 4Cr share with buyers expected to lose more than 50% of investments in the movie which is heading toward a big failure.
Amigos was appreciated for its unique concept and take on doppelgangers, but the execution, and screenplay fell flat and couldn’t engage the audience to a complete extent. The advance bookings for the movie were already low and a lot depended on the movie’s initial talk which could have given the film a lease of life.
Debutant Rajendra Reddy has directed this action entertainer. Ashika Ranganath played Kalyan Ram’s love interest in this Mythri Movie Makers production. Kollywood composer Ghibran scored the music for this movie.
