Kalki 2898 AD witnessed a very big jump the previous weekend largely owing to terrible reviews and talk of Indian 2. The bad reviews saw the audience making their way to catch Kalki 2898 AD and giving it a big 3rd weekend. After 18 days, the film has collected around Rs 670 Cr gross in India and the overseas collections stand at around Rs 240 Cr gross.
The total worldwide gross is Rs 910 Cr and this Nag Ashwin project is now heading towards the Rs 1000 Cr mark. If we include 3D charges, the gross has crossed Rs 950 Cr already. While Kalki is likely to fall short of the Rs 1000 crore mark, with 3D charges included, it will certainly breach that milestone.
Directed by Nag Ashwin, the movie stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani, and Kamal Haasan in central roles. The post-apocalyptic movie has stayed ahead of the competition in terms of BO collection since its release.
Celebrating the blockbuster success of the film, Prabhas shared a message for all the fans and thanked them for making the film a ‘huge hit’. “Thanks to Nag Ashwin garu, he really really worked hard for five years. And to make such a huge film, I think we should thank the producers. They are the most gutsy producers. The way they spent, we all got worried. I want to thank these producers for giving me the opportunity to work with the greatest legends in Indian cinema,” he added.
