July Box office: A big lesson for Distributors and Exhibitors

July was one of the most disappointing months ever for Tollywood at the box office. None of the films managed to attract any audience and recorded massive deficits.

Starting with Pakka Commercial, many medium-budget movies have released in July and every movie failed to impress the audience. Films like The Warrior, Thank You, Ramarao On Duty all failed miserably at the office.

Stars like Ravi Teja , Ram, Naga Chaitanya failed to pull the audience to theatres. Surprisingly Vikrant Rona performed well and worked well for everyone involved. This has brought forth an important lesson for the trade circles. Just hiking the ticket prices won’t bring in the collection. The content is the priority and if it is there in the movie, the audience will be willing to come to the theatres.

Now all eyes are on August releases like Macherla Niyojakavargam, Liger, and Bimbisara and it needs to be seen if they bring any spark to the box office and relief to the trade circles.
