The release issues of Jana Nayagan are getting extended beyond everyone’s wait, and the latest news is that the situation may get better as the producers are trying to find a solution with the inner management.
Sources close to the matter suggest that the Jana Nayagan team is resolving its CBFC-related issues privately, with a possible release window around Feb 12 or 13. But these are only speculations, and nothing is official as of now.
Recently, the Madras High Court quashed the release order. On January 27, 2026, a division bench of the Madras High Court set aside a previous single-judge order that had directed the immediate issuance of a U/A 16+ certificate and remanded for fresh hearing.
The division bench remanded the case back to a single judge for fresh consideration, ruling that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) must be given adequate opportunity to file a counter-affidavit.
