Thalapathy Vijay‘s long-delayed final film Jana Nayagan is reportedly nearing censor clearance after months of hurdles. According to inside reports, the Jana Nayagan censor process has been completed, bringing relief to fans who have been waiting since the film’s original January 9, 2026 release date.
The political drama faced severe delays due to a prolonged deadlock with the CBFC over politically charged content, scenes allegedly hurting religious sentiments, and procedural issues that forced the producers into legal battles. The crisis worsened when the entire film leaked online in April.
A Certificate Expected Within a Week
Sources suggest Jana Nayagan will receive an “A” (Adults Only) certificate, with the formal censor certificate expected to be issued within a week. Once the Tamil version clearance is finalized, the team will proceed with censorification of the Hindi and Telugu dubbed versions.
July Release on the Cards
The makers are now targeting a theatrical release on either July 16 or July 23, 2026. The film is expected to generate massive craze as it arrives after Vijay assumed office as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, making it a landmark moment for his fans who will witness their icon’s final screen appearance while he leads the state.
