Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 crosses 2.0 at the worldwide box office, and becomes the new highest grossing film for Tamil Cinema.

The 11-day numbers for Jailer 2 are in, and they confirm what the whole industry already knew. Rajinikanth’s film has collected ₹715 Cr gross worldwide, making it the biggest Tamil film of all time.

Jailer 2 11 Days Worldwide Collections (Gross)

  • Tamil Nadu: ₹175 Cr
  • Telugu States: ₹86 Cr
  • Karnataka: ₹80 Cr
  • Kerala: ₹71 Cr
  • North India: ₹48 Cr
  • India: ₹460 Cr

  • Worldwide: ₹715 Cr

The Industry Hit Is Official

With ₹715 Cr, Jailer 2 has comfortably gone past Rajinikanth’s own 2.0, which held the all-time Kollywood record with close to ₹700 Cr. It’s now the first and only Tamil film to cross ₹700 Cr worldwide.

Tamil Nadu: ₹175 Cr and Counting

Tamil Nadu leads with ₹175 Cr in 11 days. The film is now heading towards the ₹200 Cr mark in its home state.

Every Market Above Expectations

The other markets have also delivered record-level numbers. The Telugu states have crossed ₹86 Cr, Karnataka is at ₹80 Cr, and Kerala has reached ₹71 Cr, where Jailer 2 is already the biggest Tamil grosser ever.

North India has added ₹48 Cr, a strong number considering the film skipped the national multiplex chains in the Hindi belt.

India Crosses ₹460 Cr

India’s total has reached ₹460 Cr. Jailer 2 is now only about ₹60 Cr away from 2.0’s India record of around ₹520 Cr, the only Tamil film to cross ₹500 Cr in India so far.

Overseas: ₹255 Cr

Overseas continues to be a massive strength with ₹255 Cr. Jailer 2 is the first Tamil film to cross $25M overseas, and it has set all-time Kollywood records in the Middle East and Australia.

₹800 Cr Is Next

With the film still running strongly, the next big milestone is ₹800 Cr worldwide, a number no Tamil film has ever come close to.
