Nowadays it has become hard for the movies to have a good run for even 10 days at the box office. Balagam which was released as a small film had turned out to be a surprise blockbuster and thanks to a terrific word of mouth from the audience, the film registered its biggest day at the box office even on the 20th day, which the proves how big was the success of the film.
That’s why everyone were shocked by the OTT announcement on the next day itself and are asking why the makers have opted for such early OTT Streaming. The producers may have closed the deal for a big price before the release, because no one would have expected the film to become such a big hit.
But the movie got huge accolades and appreciation in its theatrical release and definitely it had the potential to run for at least 2–3 weeks more. Netizens opine that the makers of Balagam should have gone for some negotiations with the OTT platform to postpone the release.
