The team behind the highly ambitious film shared the exciting update in a special video on Monday, October 9, which featured the iconic Tamil actor and blockbuster filmmaker Shankar from the dubbing studio. The film will be released in two parts and the makers are aiming to release the first part in Summer 2024.
The Indian 2 video starts with Kamal Haasan arriving at a dubbing studio in Chennai, followed by director Shankar and being welcomed by the film’s team. Both the Tamil cinema powerhouses converse and talk about the film, with Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman’s iconic theme music from Indian (1996) being featured in the video.

The video concludes with the duo interacting excitedly in front of a screen, which appears to be displaying a visual from the upcoming action and political drama film. Indian 2 has been able to generate a lot of buzz and will see Kamal Haasan playing alongside several renowned Tamil actors, including Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, S J Suryah, and late actors Vivek and Manobala. For more than a year, Shankar has been juggling production of Kamal Haasan’s Kamal Haasan-starrer and Ram Charan’s Game Changer in Telugu.
