Actress Hansika’s wedding streaming rights bought by a OTT Platform

It’s wedding time for South Indian actresses, as we know Thalaivi Nayanthara has recently married director Vignesh Shivan. Their wedding was celebrated in grand scale and celebrities from Bollywood to Kollywood attended the event.

The event was also streamed on Netflix, and for this the celebrity couple charged crores of rupees for the OTT rights. Another South Indian star heroine Hansika will be marrying in few days and the streaming rights are already bagged by Disney + Hotstar for a fancy price.

Celebrities especially of film industry enjoy the limelight. Everyone is keen to follow their lives closely, especially the fans. Hence, film industry celebrities enjoy a stardom beyond cinema.

Nayanthara’s wedding got massive demand on OTT platforms and Netflix got the deal for huge sum of money. Following her footsteps, Hansika also sold the streaming rights of her wedding to Disney + Hotstar.

This trend of commercializing the weddings which are generally done in public presence have critics as well. This idea of generating profits out of their stardom from personal events is not right according to some. However, for celebrities their fame is an investment.
