Hero Venu is trying to give a comeback for long time, but it looks like the tough times for him are not going to end anytime soon as his latest OTT release, Athidhi, receives negative reviews from the audience. Directed by Bharath YG, the web series started streaming on Disney Plus Hot star from September 19th.
Senior Heroes like Jagapathi Babu, Srikanth are now in superb form with getting continuous offers for character roles, but the same is not happening for Venu. He put many hopes on Ramarao On Duty where he played an important role, but the film failed miserably, and he tried his luck on OTT platform with a web series called Athidhi which started streaming from yesterday but even this attempt from him is receiving negative reviews as well.
Venu had received good success as a hero with comedy movies like Swayamvaram, Hanuman Junction and Pellam Oorelithe. Once upon a time, he was a bankable star with continuous hits. Thereafter, he faced a series of flops and after taking a gap for a few years, he appeared in key roles in films like Dhammu and Chintakayala Ravi.
Subsequently, Venu once again took a long break from films. Ramachari which was released in 2013, was his last film in the lead role. He made a comeback last year with Ravi Teja’s Ramarao On Duty, which failed at the box office. Venu played the role of a police officer with negative shades in the film.
