Hero Nikhil who was against the film being released on June 29th and wanted to take more time to get the required content and quality is now not happy and very disappointed with the result.

Spy did not get released in many languages, including Hindi. The National Multiplexes that account for 80% of revenue for the Hindi movies did not play the movie because of the contract issues. It is being reported that the OTT agreement was also one of the reasons as generally the Hindi movies will have a gap of eight weeks from the theatrical release whereas Spy OTT deal has been reportedly closed for four weeks.
