Harish Shankar responded with “Thadhaastu” (So be it). The reply upset several Mahesh Babu fans and quickly sparked debates across social media.
Director Explains the Situation
Addressing the controversy, Harish Shankar clarified that the response was unintentional and happened during a hectic work schedule.
He explained the situation with a few key points:
- Busy Schedule: He attended censor board meetings, temple visits, post-production work, and background score sessions with Thaman S on the same day.
- Partial Reading: In the rush of replying to messages, he read only part of the tweet before responding.
- Immediate Deletion: After his team informed him about the full context, he deleted the tweet within a minute.

The director expressed deep respect for Mahesh Babu and his fan base. He also mentioned that he believes the superstar will create new records with his upcoming project Varanasi.
