Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter was released over the Republic Day weekend amidst low buzz and decent reviews. The film couldn’t manage to create the kind of hype the makers would have expected and they hoped that the positive word of mouth could save the film.
The film noticed good growth as the positive word of mouth started spreading over last weekend. It held very well on day 3. In India, the day is bigger than the opening day. So far, the trend is day 2 > day 3 > day 1. In Overseas day 3 was the biggest one for the film. Day 4 which was a Sunday held well but the film has now crashed with weekdays giving poor returns for the film.
Despite unanimous positive reviews and word of mouth the movie is struggling at the box office and collected around 225Cr+ gross in 6 days. Fighter’s digital rights have been acquired by Netflix and the film will stream on OTT in March end.
The action drama features an impressive star cast of Hrithik, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor and is directed by Siddharth Malhotra whose earlier film Pathan was one of the biggest blockbusters of 2023.
