Mohanlal’s Empuraan, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, has opened with an extraordinary number at the box office. Made as a sequel to Lucifer (2019), the film received mixed reviews on its release after producing unprecedented hype for a Malayalam film. Empuraan 1st Day Box Office: Outstanding Start
The film opened with a 15 Cr gross in Kerala, while Karnataka’s number is 4 Cr. The Telugu States number is 1.5 Cr, with Tamil Nadu getting 2 Cr along with North India getting 2.5 Cr. If we put all numbers together, the total all-India gross of L2 Empuraan is 25 Cr on the first day.

The Middle East number is 2.45M, America 940K, UK-Ireland stands at 820K, and Australia-NZ 380K. The rest of the world’s collection will be around 450K. The total overseas gross is 5M [43 Cr].
Overall, the film opens at the worldwide box office with a staggering 68 Cr gross, and it beats the previous best, which was 20 Cr gross, by a 350% margin.
