The movie had a decent 3rd weekend at the box office and posted some decent numbers in India and overseas. For 18 days, Dunki has collected 219Cr Net in India, and the Gross is 260Cr. Overseas gross is 22M approx [182Cr], which takes the total worldwide Gross to 442Cr.
Considering the budget and own release, definitely, Dunki is a hugely profitable film for producers Shahrukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani. However, the numbers are pretty low considering the combination and SRK’s recent form. The collections of the film are less than half of Jawan and Pathaan. It is the 3rd biggest grosser for Shahrukh Khan after Jawan and Pathaan.
Set in a small village in Punjab, the film tells the story of four people with few resources who wish to travel to London to overcome their life issues. Hardy (Shah Rukh), an ex-army man, enters their life just as they are about to quit to make their goal a reality by following a roundabout, illegal route. Along the way, he develops feelings for Manu (Taapsee Pannu).
Dunki also includes prominent actors such as Vicky Kaushal, Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, Vikram Kocchar, and Anil Grover. Red Chillies Entertainment produced the movie, and Pritam composed the musical score. Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani have collaborated with this film for the first time. On December 21St, the film was released in theaters worldwide.
