Yatra, a biopic about former Chief Minister of erstwhile United AP, YS Rajasekhar Reddy, was released a few years ago during the 2019 elections season in Andhra Pradesh. YSR’s role was played by Malayalam star Mammootty in the movie.
Mahi V Raghav, who directed Yatra, is also handled the responsibility of directing Yatra 2 on the present Chief Minister of AP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, this film was in the news for many days and a few months ago the first look poster was released. The buzz is that Mammootty’s son and star hero Dulquer Salmaan was approached to play YS Jagan in the film but he declined it as per the reports.
The team of Yatra 2 has still not officially finalised the hero. Earlier Tamil Hero Vishal’s name was in the news and after that another hero Jeeva was almost confirmed to be Main option for the film.
But due to the market dynamics the team is. continously approaching other big stars for the film however the problem is with the involvement of politics the stars are not looking interested to do this film. The team said to have approached Dulquer Salmaan as he is carrying good market in all South Indian states but reportedly the star has declined the offer.
