As a birthday gift for Superstar Rajinikanth fans, Shivaji (2007) was set for a re-release, but the latest news is that the re-release has been canceled. The trend of re-releases has lost its craze. A few months back, the trend of re-releases worked very well, with many old films from Telugu and the Tamil film industry becoming superhits in re-release. However, recently, the re-releases have not been working like before and have resulted in heavy losses for the buyers.

Even the audiences are not showing any interest in watching re-releases. Pawan Kalyan’s Gudumba Shankar was released as his birthday special and saw poor numbers. Balakrishna’s old classic, Bhairava Dweepam, was also planned for a re-release, but it was canceled due to lack of craze.

Shriya Saran portrayed the female lead role. Vivek, Suman, Manivannan, and Raghuvaran were seen in supportive roles. This film, produced by AVM Productions, had its soundtrack composed by Oscar-winning AR Rahman.
