During different periods in Tollywood, Devi Sri Prasad and Thaman have dominated the music industry. They have always been the go-to music directors for many directors and stars as well. During the 2000-2018 period DSP has produced many chartbusters including the likes of Arya, Rangasthalam, Singam, and so on.
Thaman has also enjoyed great success with his chart-busting albums such as AVPL, Race Gurram, Dookudu, and so on. Thaman has also recently been impressive with his background score for Balakrishna’s Akhanda.
But off late, both DSP and Thaman seem to have lost that same spark. Chiranjeevi’s Godfather’s first single announcement music has failed to get the heads bopping. Even the background score from the teaser of the film was average at best.
DSP’s recent music for Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga and Rowdy Boys has also been very forgettable for the audiences. We are hoping and eagerly looking forward to some magic from them very soon. DSP is scoring the music for Pushpa Part 2 as well and there are huge expectations from him. On the other hand, Thaman will be scoring the music for SSMB28.
