The Diwali weekend brought a festive boost to the box office, with several films making waves across various regions and turning in impressive numbers.
Amaran, starring Siva Karthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, emerged as a top performer this weekend. The film recorded a phenomenal gross of approximately 140 crore worldwide, marking the highest-ever grosser for Siva Karthikeyan. Thanks to the strong holiday turnout, Amaran has already crossed its break-even point and is now on track to becoming a blockbuster. This success highlights the film’s popularity and appeal across all territories, setting a new milestone in the actor’s career.
KA Movie had an equally strong Diwali debut, earning around 19 crore gross worldwide during its first weekend. The film has almost reached break-even status in all its release regions, which sets the stage for weekday collections to determine how far it can go. With plans to launch in other languages this coming weekend, KA Movie’s earnings are expected to receive a further boost, giving it a wider audience and additional momentum at the box office.
Meanwhile, Lucky Bhaskar had a good weekend, performing decently in the Telugu-speaking regions but showing sensational success in other areas. The movie saw excellent collections in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and the Gulf, leading to a first-weekend total of approximately 45 crore. Although the film’s reception in Telugu states was moderate, its exceptional performance elsewhere helped boost its overall revenue. However, for it to attain solid box office status, it needs strong weekday collections, especially in Telugu regions where distributors are yet to recoup their investments.
