Bimbisara was the biggest blockbuster in Kalyan Ram’s career and brought in huge collections and audience love for the movie. The Bimbisara team had announced a sequel before the release only and said that the film will be a trilogy. The Bimbisara team had announced that it was a multipart story and the franchise will continue immediately.

Even Kalyan Ram wants to start the sequel as soon as possible to use the craze of that franchise. But it looks like this plan might not materialize soon. Mallidi Vashist, the director is looking to explore other projects before going on with Bimbisara.

He is keen to take a break from the Bimbisara franchise for now and wants to make another film. This is why he is meeting top Heros and narrating fresh scripts. Kalyan Ram wants the sequel immediately but the director is not ready to do this now this made some differences between them.

Set in 500 BC, the fantasy action film follows the story of Bimbisara (Kalyan Ram) who is a cruel and power-hungry king who takes extreme measures to suppress any dissent in his kingdom.

The fantasy drama was released to positive reviews and excellent occupancies right from Day 1 and brought excellent returns to all involved. Debutant Mallidi Vasisht directed the film which also starred Catherine Tresa, Samyukhta Menon, and Vivan Bhatena in key roles. Kalyan Ram’s own banner NTR Arts has bankrolled this project with MM Keeravani lending the tunes.
