Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh, has emerged as one of the biggest Bollywood successes in recent years.
Released in December 2025, the film exceeded industry expectations and reportedly became the highest-grossing Bollywood film in India, turning the project into a valuable franchise.
Sequel Success Fuels Dhurandhar 3 Talks
The sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, is scheduled for release on March 19, 2026. Early indicators such as advance ticket sales and premiere bookings show extremely strong demand.
Following this momentum, Jio Studios has reportedly encouraged Aditya Dhar to begin developing Dhurandhar 3 and expand the franchise into a larger cinematic universe.
Director Yet to Confirm Third Film
Despite the studio’s interest, Aditya Dhar has not officially committed to directing a third installment.
According to industry sources, the filmmaker already has initial ideas for another chapter and may even include a post-credits teaser in the upcoming sequel.
However, after spending more than two years working on the franchise, Dhar may also consider exploring a completely different story instead of continuing the same series immediately.
Future Collaboration with the Studio
Aditya Dhar currently has a first-look deal with Jio Studios, which ensures that he will direct another project for the studio in the future.
Whether that project turns out to be Dhurandhar 3 or a completely new film remains uncertain. However, the massive success of the franchise has given the director strong creative leverage in choosing his next project.
