Dhanush’s Thiruchitrambalam was released in theatres yesterday and has opened very well at the box office. The Tamil version of the film has opened to very promising numbers and the advance bookings for the weekend look phenomenal.
It is also a much-needed comeback for Dhanush as he has had multiple forgettable ventures lately. His last few releases like Jagame Thandhiram and Maaran were trashed by critics and audiences. His small extended cameo in Gray Man was impressive but the film as a whole did not impress either.
It is also noteworthy that Dhanush’s last 4 movies have all been direct OTT releases. He would have been craving for a theatrical release and what better than Thiruchitrambalam. Going by the trade reports, a huge blockbuster revenue is on the cards for Dhanush and the team. The performances of Dhanush and Nitya Menon have won everyone’s hearts. Thiruchitrambalam also stars Priya Bhavani Shankar, Raashi Khanna, and Prakash Raj in important roles. Mithran Jawahar is the director of the film and the music is by Anirudh Ravichander.
