Raviteja’s Dhamaka had an excellent second week at the box office as the collections simply exploded on the last weekend. The Ravi Teja starrer had a massive surge at the box office, with getting over 100 percent growth in the collections during the New Year weekend.
Dhamaka continued its super strong run in the second week, as said above it also contained the advantage of New Year day.
Dhamaka collected 13.2 Crores’ share for 2 weeks in Nizam, Ceded – 5.35 Crores, Andhra – 11 Crores, Rest of India – 2 Crores. The film collected 1.7 Crores from overseas as it became a Super hit there too. Overall, Dhamaka has collected over 33 Crores share worldwide for 2 weeks.
This also proves once again how big a day January 1st is for the box office. A medium-range film scored numbers comparable to some of the massive blockbusters in Telugu Cinema history.
The numbers in Telugu states of New year day were higher than the first Saturday. In many centers, New Year Day was the biggest day for Dhamaka while many other films had similar collections as the first day and first Sunday.
The movie brings the Mass Maharaja and Trinadha Rao Nakkina together for the first time. Apart from Ravi Teja’s energetic performance and some mass moments in the film, Bheems Ceciroleo’s foot-tapping music has too acted to the movie’s advantage. Sree Leela’s stunning screen presence and dance skills have also created a solid buzz for the film.
Dhamaka achieved the break-even status within 5 days of its run and has won a blockbuster position until now. The theatrical business of this film is valued at around 19 Crores, and it has become almost a double blockbuster and one more time registered the supremacy of commercial cinema.
