The message appeared plain: dismiss any divorce rumors around the pair for months. Ranveer refused to sit even an inch away from his lady love, and neither of the fans was upset! Deepika’s possessive act of resting her hand tenderly over Ranveer’s lap almost the entire program added to the romance.
The jaw-dropping moment that left the audience and KJo speechless was when Ranveer revealed their secret engagement in 2015, three years before their lavish wedding. Deepika heightened the mystery by stating that she wasn’t initially interested in a serious relationship with Ranveer and that they were okay with seeing other people, sparking speculation over whether they were in a “situationship.”
A situationship, for those unfamiliar with the phrase, is a condition between a committed relationship and something more than friendship. This notion has recently gained popularity and is sometimes compared to an “open relationship.”
When Deepika said she wasn’t ready for commitment and only wanted to have fun and recuperate from her previous relationships when she met Ranveer, several Bollywood fans called it a situationship. Unfortunately, this phrase is not honored but instead condemned for being considered disloyal and involves the ‘usage’ of numerous persons.
In her own words, the ‘Bajirao Mastani’ actress explained, “I didn’t commit until he (Ranveer) proposed to me,” revealing that they were allowed to see other people but always found their way back to each other because no one excited her more than Ranveer did. However, not all were supportive, and some started trolling Deepika for her perspective on relationships.
