Kannada actor Darshan Thoogdeep Srinivas has appealed for bail in the Karnataka High Court, following his arrest in the Renukaswamy murder case. The court, led by Justice S. Vishwajith Shetty, has issued a notice to the state government regarding the petition. Additionally, the prosecution has been directed to produce Darshan’s medical records and file its objections to the bail plea by the next hearing.
Senior Advocate C.V. Nagesh, representing Darshan, argued that the actor is suffering from a serious spinal ailment, and that he underwent medical tests on Monday, October 21. Taking note of this, the court stated, “We will call for the medical reports and post the matter for further hearing on Monday.”
Previously, on October 14, the Sessions Court rejected the bail applications of both Darshan and co-accused Pavitra Gowda. Darshan, arrested on June 11, 2024, has been in judicial custody since June 22. Recently, the police filed a chargesheet in the case. Meanwhile, co-accused Keshavamurthy was granted bail by the High Court.
