The Telugu film Court, which arrived as a small film and went on to become a sensational blockbuster, is now being remade in Tamil. Produced by Natural Star Nani, the original film was a huge success and received praise for its strong storytelling and performances.
The movie featured Harsh Roshan and Sridevi in the lead roles, while Priyadarshi Pulikonda impressed audiences in a crucial role. After its super hit run in Telugu, the film is now being adapted for Kollywood under the title Ranjan.
Prashanth Leads Tamil Version
The Tamil remake will star Top Star Prashanth in a key role and is being directed by Thyagarajan. The film was officially launched on Monday, April 4, in a grand ceremony.
Court's Tamil remake has been in the works for several months, and the launch marks a significant milestone for the Kollywood adaptation.
Devayani’s Daughter Priyanka Makes Film Debut
One of the major highlights of this remake is the debut of senior actress Devayani’s daughter, Priyanka, who is entering the film industry with Ranjan. Devayani herself confirmed the news and expressed her happiness at the launch event.
She also thanked director Thyagarajan for giving her daughter this special opportunity and confidently stated that Priyanka would shine in the film industry just like she did.
In the Tamil remake of Court, Prashanth will reprise the character originally played by Priyadarshi in the Telugu version. Priyanka will step into the role of Jabili, which was portrayed by Sridevi in the original.
Meanwhile, the character of Chandu, originally played by Harsh Roshan, will now be played by producer Five Star Kathiresan’s son Hari, who takes on one of the lead roles in the remake.
