Adah Sharma starrer The Kerala Story opened to great numbers for a small film and grew leaps and bounds showing a solid spike in collections with every next day. The film received divided opinions from all quarters. While some call it propaganda cinema, others call it a reality of our nation.
Some states like West Bengal have imposed a ban on the film while Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have made the movie tax-free. The continuous controversy over the film has done wonders to its publicity and collections have done the unimaginable.
The Kerala Story has now achieved a blockbuster status and has crossed Rs 200 crores gross at the box office.
With the film doing phenomenally well at the theatres, the OTT release has been decided to be scheduled after 50 days. The film will premiere on Zee 5 in July 1st week and the makers want to ensure it gets a proper reception theatrically before going for digital release.
