Santhanam’s latest Tamil horror comedy DD Returns, also known as Dhilluku Dhuddu 3, has become a blockbuster at the box office with posting sensational numbers. On its second weekend, the Santhanam-led comedy horror gathered about Rs 9 crores, with around 25 percent drop from its opening weekend. As a result, the film’s total of ten days is to Rs 30 crores at the domestic box office, with the majority of income coming from Tamil Nadu State.
Santhanam has a tradition of doing this kind of films very often, but he managed to take a back seat and let his talented cast carry the movie forward, which was liked by the audiences and the critics as well.
DD Returns is a Tamil horror comedy film directed and written by S Prem Anand, who made his debut with the film. The film, produced by RK Entertainment, features Santhanam and Surbhi in the main roles, with Redin Kingsley, Maran, and Pradeep Rawat as supporting actors. The film is a continuation of Dhilluku Dhuddu 2 and the third installment in the Dhilluku Dhuddu film series.
Santhanam did not have much success with his past two three films, but DD returns posts sensational numbers at the box office as it has collected more than 30 Crores gross in 10 days, which is an unbelievable feat for a film in which a comedian acted as the main lead.
