Cheating Case filed on Manjummel Boys Producers, Bank accounts Frozen

Manjummel Boys broke all existing records and emerged as all time blockbuster in Malayalam. The film was well received in Telugu states as well and its Telugu version is running to good response. The survival thriller, however, is now in news for all the wrong reasons.

The Ernakulam Sub Court has ordered the freezing of bank accounts belonging to the makers of Manjummel Boys. The account associated with Parava Films and partner Shaun Anthony was ordered to be frozen following a petition by Siraj Waliyathara Hameed.

Hameed alleged that he invested Rs 7 crore in the film with promises of a 40% profit share, but was cheated. The petition claims the film made Rs 220 crore globally and earned Rs 20 crore from OTT platforms. A court notice has been sent to Soubin Shahir, the owner of Parava Films.

The court directed the officials to freeze the bank accounts of producers Soubin Shahir, Babu Shahir and Shawn Antony. The court also served a notice to the producers and a reaction from them is awaited.
