Bollywood Industry Is Worrying About The Agenda Of Netizens On Social Media

The Hindi Film Industry, or the more popular term, Bollywood, has been suffering for quite some time now. None of the films are working at the box office and even the big names are unable to attract audiences into theatres. Even before the boycott campaign became a trend, Bollywood movies failed to impress.

The main reason for Bollywood movies not working is the lack of content or originality in the script. Movies like Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom, Laxmi, and Bachchan Pandey were flops at the box office. This happened even before the boycott trend started on social media.

To add fuel to the fire, netizens started boycotting Bollywood films for silly reasons. Aamir’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay’s Raksha Bandhan failed largely due to a lack of originality but the boycott campaigns may have had some part to play.

But now, this boycott trend has crossed all limits. Netizens have decided to boycott Brahmastra, which is supposed to be based on India’s culture and heritage. Brahmastra is the only hope for any theatrical revival of Bollywood and all hopes are pinned on this movie.

But some sections are targeting the film just for the sake of it. The industry is worried that the collections might be affected due to this. But as long as the content is good, the word of mouth will help the film to attract audiences.
