Tollywood’s two latest releases Bimbisara and Sita Ramam have opened to positive reviews and good word of mouth from the audience.
Despite the positive talk, Dulquer Salmaan starter Sita Ramam had an average day at the box office and had a 1st day worldwide share in the range of Rs 2.5 Cr. Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, this romantic drama now needs a terrific weekend to go towards breakeven.
Bimbisara on the other hand has performed exceedingly well. The Kalyan Ram starter has already made a recovery of 45% on Day 1. The film is set to break even by the weekend itself and is on its course to being a blockbuster.
Set in 500 BC, the fantasy action film follows the story of Bimbisara (Kalyan Ram) who is a cruel and power-hungry king who takes extreme measures to suppress any dissent in his kingdom.
Coming to Sita Ramam, the unit is hoping that the film picks up really well over the weekend. If that indeed happens, then it will be a double-blockbuster weekend for Tollywood.
